the saga of how I made my first wedding cake
starting with a Wilton Cake Decorating Class at Michael's in March 2014

this is the first cake from class                

I made this batch of cupcakes the weekend before we covered them in cake decorating class

I made a 10 inch cake inspired by Martha Stewart's Woodland wedding cake for the bachelorette party

then I made a cardboard mock-up with a 14 inch, 10 inch, and 6 inch tier, deciding on these dimensions

I used a 50/50 fondant/gum paste mix to make decorations

the 6 inch tier is already in the freezer and this is the 10 inch tier an 8 inch cake I made to celebrate

the 14 inch tier - I had to make a third layer because it was only 3" high and I wanted it to be 4 inches!
